IU celebrates her 17th debut anniversary by donating to meaningful causes!
On September 18, IU marked her 17th debut anniversary with a generous 200 million won (approximately $144,393) donation to charities.
According to EDAM Entertainment, the donation was made in the name of IU’s fandom, UAENA, and will be directed toward vulnerable groups, including children with incurable illnesses, individuals with disabilities, young adults transitioning to independence, and elderly citizens living alone. The agency added that 50 million won was allocated to each of several organizations, including the Korea Foundation for Persons with Disabilities.

IU has consistently made charitable donations in the name of her fandom to mark meaningful occasions, including her debut anniversary, birthday, and year-end holidays.
Earlier this year, she donated 200 million won in March to aid victims of the Gyeongsang wildfires, followed by 150 million won on Children’s Day in May to support youth programs. She also commemorated her birthday that same month with an additional 200 million won contribution to assist vulnerable communities.
IU recently also held a fan meet-up titled ‘Bye, Summer’ at Seoul’s KSPO Dome on September 13–14, her first offline event in nearly two years.
Congratulations to IU on her 17th debut anniversary!
