GOT7’s Jinyoung might be starring in an exciting new period drama!
On July 29, Korean media outlets reported that Jinyoung is in talks to star as the male lead in tvN’s upcoming weekend drama, ‘100 Days of Lies’ (literal title), which is aiming for a premiere in the first half of 2026. In response, his agency, BH Entertainment, shared, “It is a project that he has received an offer for and is currently reviewing.”
‘100 Days of Lies’ follows the journey of Gyeongseong’s (present-day Seoul) most skilled pickpocket, who goes undercover as a government officer at the Japanese Government-General of Korea, all while secretly aiding the independence movement. The drama is penned by Ryu Bo Ri, the writer behind ‘Do You Like Brahms?’ and ‘Trolley’, and directed by Yoo In Shik, best known for ‘Extraordinary Attorney Woo’ and the ‘Dr. Romantic’ series.
Previously, actress Kim You Jung was reported to be in discussions to take on the female lead role.
Jinyoung first debuted as an actor in the 2012 drama ‘Dream High 2’ before debuting with GOT7 in 2014. Over time, he has built a solid acting portfolio with standout performances in dramas such as ‘The Devil Judge’, ‘Yumi’s Cells 2’, ‘The Witch’, and, most recently, ‘Our Unwritten Seoul’, as well as the film ‘Hi-5’. He is also currently filming JTBC’s upcoming drama ‘Shining’ (literal title).
With Jinyoung and Kim You Jung possibly joining forces, ‘100 Days of Lies’ is already shaping up to be one of the most anticipated dramas on tvN’s 2026 roster.
‘100 Days of Lies’ is slated for broadcast through tvN in 2026.
