It’s ‘Home Sweet Home’ indeed as BIGBANG members have reunited for G-Dragon‘s latest single.
On November 22, G-Dragon dropped his latest single ‘HOME SWEET HOME’ alongside fellow BIGBANG members Taeyang and Daesung. The mid-tempo song explores pop-rock soundscapes, delivering a poignant message of reconnection and continuity. The song also gives fans a sense of nostalgia as the trio sings of picking up where they left off with lyrics like “I said I would be back / I’d never let you go”.
‘HOME SWEET HOME’ comes almost a month after GD dropped his pre-release single ‘POWER‘ on October 31. ‘POWER’ was his first release solo record in seven years, and was released via Galaxy Corporation and EMPIRE. The song was met with much acclaim and its music video also trended at #4 on YouTube within hours of its release.
G-Dragon is also set to perform at the MAMA Awards in Osaka, Japan, on November 23, marking his first performance at the prestigious event in nine years.
G-Dragon, born Kwon Ji Yong, is a Seoul native, and a prominent figure in the K-Pop and global music scene since the age of 13. He debuted in 2006 as the leader and member of the trendsetting K-pop group, BIGBANG. He ventured into a solo career in 2009 with his solo studio album ‘Heartbreaker‘. Both his studio albums, ‘Heartbreaker’ and ‘COUP D’ETAT‘ reached the top of Korea’s Gaon chart. His debut EP, ‘One of a Kind‘, topped the Billboard World Album Chart and 2017’s self-titled EP ‘KWON JI YONG‘ also topped the Billboard World Albums Chart and Japan’s Oricon digital chart – making him the first Korean artist to do so.
Apart from his highly successful musical endeavors, G-Dragon has also forayed into fashion with his streetwear apparel brand, PEACEMINUSONE, and was named in one of the Business of Fashion 500 list. G-Dragon also expanded into art, having been added to ArtNet’s Top 200 Art Collectors list in 2019 and was a part of Frieze Seoul’s Now & Next artist series last year. This year, he is creating a perfume in collaboration with French perfumer Frédéric Malle and launched JUSPEACE, a charity foundation to combat drug abuse in South Korea.
