South Korean singer-songwriter KWON EUNBI made a captivating return on April 14 with her latest digital single, ‘Hello Stranger.’ The track blends dark, fantastical visuals with raw emotion, revealing new sides of EUNBI with every release. In an exclusive interview with Namaste Hallyu, she shared insights into the creative journey behind her new single, her experiences on large-scale stages, and her deep love for her Indian fans.
‘Hello Stranger’ is a track that invites listeners into EUNBI’s world of mystery and allure. Describing the song, she says, “It’s a mysterious and captivating track that invites a stranger into my own world. It carries a dreamy and enchanting vibe.” This mood is further amplified by stunning concept photos that reflect the essence of the song. “I wanted to visually capture the moment of discovering something warm in the midst of darkness,” EUNBI explains.
The phrase ‘Like a thief in the night’ symbolizes a quiet yet powerful attraction.
Interestingly, the music video shoot brought its own surprises. Despite initial concerns over heavy rain, the unpredictable weather ended up enhancing the dreamy vibe. “The cloudy skies and rain actually enhanced the dreamy mood of the video. I was really happy with how it turned out,” she reflects. However, this comeback wasn’t without its challenges.
I spent a lot of time on the recording to express the emotions as deeply as possible. The choreography was also more powerful and detailed than usual, so we focused a lot on capturing the emotions even in the smallest gestures.
The effort and passion poured into the song are evident. With its ethereal quality, ‘Hello Stranger’ could easily be compared to a fairytale, and EUNBI draws a parallel to ‘Alice in Wonderland.’ She explains, “Like the main character who enters a strange world and discovers her true self, the song feels like a journey into a new and magical place.”

Beyond the studio, EUNBI has earned the title of “Waterbomb Queen” for her electrifying performances at Waterbomb Festivals. The preparation for such large-scale events involves rigorous focus. “The energy of big stages like Waterbomb is on another level. So I put a lot of focus on stamina and rehearsed the performance intensively. I also have a few little rituals before going on stage to get into the right mindset,” she shares.
It’s not easy to earn a title like that. The energy on the Waterbomb stage is so special—it helps me discover new sides of myself every time.
Creatively, EUNBI is constantly pushing her limits to reveal more sides of herself. She recalls one of her most memorable challenges: filming a movie in Japan. “It was a huge step out of my comfort zone, and although I wasn’t confident at first, I really wanted to try. After finishing it, I felt such a strong sense of accomplishment,” she shares.
She’s also eager to explore new interests and hobbies. Pottery, in particular, has caught her attention. “I really like the calm and focused feeling of creating something with my hands. I hope I get the chance to learn it someday,” she says with excitement.
With constantly releasing music, working on new tracks, and performing at festivals, EUNBI has a packed schedule. But she does not let that stop her from staying inspired. “I try to experience a wide range of emotions and perspectives by watching movies and performances. I also make a habit of jotting down feelings from daily life,” she reveals.
Looking ahead to 2025, EUNBI has clear goals in mind. “I want to create more opportunities to meet fans face-to-face through live stages and various types of content, all over the world.” To her Indian RUBIs, she adds, “I can always feel the huge love and support from my Indian fans! I really hope to greet you all in person on stage very soon.”
Thank you so much for your heartfelt support, even from far away. I truly hope I can sing for you in India one day. Always grateful—love you so much, RUBI!
With her mesmerizing new single, relentless passion, and sincere affection for her fans, KWON EUNBI continues to carve a beautiful path in the music world.
