YG Entertainment has taken the first step toward launching its next major girl group.
On May 28 at midnight KST, YG Entertainment revealed Evelli, a 15-year-old Australian trainee, as the first member of the upcoming girl group currently called NEXT MONSTER through a performance video covering Doechii’s ‘Nosebleeds’. Evelli has been training at YG for two years and is already gaining attention for her charisma and polished performance.
This reveal follows an earlier statement by Yang Hyun Suk, the founder of YG Entertainment, who confirmed plans for a new girl group. Following the model used for BABYMONSTER, the members will first be introduced as trainees through individual videos before debuting as a full group. Yang also hinted at solo music releases for the members in 2026, indicating a multi-layered debut strategy.
Fans are already buzzing about Evelli’s potential, and with more members yet to be introduced, anticipation is growing for NEXT MONSTER, YG’s potential next powerhouse girl group.
