EPEX creates history as the first K-pop group to hold a concert in China in nine years.
On April 28, C9 Entertainment announced that EPEX will perform at the MAAQUU X CH8 livehouse in Fuzhou, China, on May 31. This marks a major milestone, as they will be the first full Korean idol group to hold a concert in China in nine years, following the 2016 THAAD crisis.

While hip-hop groups and Korean artists have held small-scale concerts and events such as fanmeetings and pop-up stores in China over the years, a solo concert by a K-pop group like EPEX signals a significant step forward in cultural exchanges between the two countries.
The agency shared, “EPEX has made continuous efforts to connect with Chinese fans in various ways since their debut. The group collaborated on photo shoots and interviews with Chinese magazines, and in January of this year, they held fan signing events in Shanghai and Qingdao, where they received an overwhelmingly positive response.”
The upcoming Fuzhou concert is part of EPEX’s ongoing ‘YOUTH DEFICIENCY’ Asia tour, which kicked off in Seoul last December. The group will also perform in Macau on May 3 and in Taipei on May 24 before their historic China show.
Meanwhile, EPEX will drop a special collaboration single, ‘so nice’, with U.S. pop duo joan on May 6, further showcasing their expanding global presence.
