ENHYPEN’s Sunghoon has been named an official ambassador for the Korea Sport & Olympic Committee.
On May 16, the Korea Sports Council announced that ENHYPEN member Sunghoon has been appointed as a promotional ambassador for the committee. Sunghoon’s appointment is especially meaningful, as he was a figure skater and a national reserve team member before his debut. In this new role, Sunghoon will be responsible for generating interest in the upcoming 2026 Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics. His responsibilities also include encouraging recreational sports, raising awareness about the importance of regular physical activity through talent-sharing programs, fostering local sports initiatives, and delivering key sports policy messages.

During the ceremony, Sunghoon acknowledged his previous career as an athlete and shared, “I am honored to be able to serve as the PR ambassador for the Korea Sports Council. Figure skating was a turning point in my life. I think the challenging spirit and focus I gained from my experience as a member of the national team’s reserve force have become the nutrients that have made me who I am today.” He further reflected on the similarities between being an athlete and a K-pop idol, saying, “Although they are different fields, I think K-pop and sports share core values because they always do their best and have fans who cheer them on.”
Meanwhile, ENHYPEN is set to make a comeback with their 6th mini-album ‘DESIRE: UNLEASH’ on June 5 at 1 PM KST (9:30 AM IST).
