‘Forever We Are Young,’ a Documentary on BTS’ Fandom, ARMY, Premieres at SXSW 2025
The highly anticipated documentary ‘Forever We Are Young’ premiered at the 2025 South by Southwest (SXSW) Film & TV Festival in the ’24 Beats Per Second’ category on March 10 at 11 AM, celebrating the global impact of BTS’ fandom, ARMY (Adorable Representative M.C. for Youth).
Directed by Grace Lee and Patty Ahn, the 91-minute film explores how music has brought together a passionate community of fans, transcending borders and uniting millions worldwide.
Filmed over three years across cities like Seoul, Los Angeles, Texas, and Mexico City, the documentary highlights personal stories that showcase ARMY’s diversity, dedication, and influence. It also offers an intimate look at how BTS’ journey has shaped the lives of various fans and how the fandom has grown alongside the group.
Co-director Patty Ahn describes ARMY as a powerful force redefining fan culture, while Grace Lee notes how their love for BTS fosters positivity and change. The film captures the essence of this fandom, as well as BTS’ core message of self-love and valuing friendship.
A second screening of the documentary is scheduled for Tuesday, March 11, at the ZACH Theatre. The film will begin at 5:45 PM local time and is available in English, Korean, Spanish, and Castilian.
