Back in April 2025, ENHYPEN delivered a captivating debut performance at Coachella and ended day one with a bold teaser: “Can’t touch you, but I’m gonna make you mine,” officially ringing in their new era and announcing their sixth mini album, ‘DESIRE: UNLEASH’.
A seven-member group consisting of Jungwon, Heeseung, Jay, Jake, Sunghoon, Sunoo, and Ni-Ki, ENHYPEN was formed through the audition program ‘I-LAND’ and made their debut in November 2020 with the EP ‘BORDER: DAY ONE’. Since then, the group has steadily grown, delivering impressive performances and releasing chart-topping music.
With their sixth mini album, ‘DESIRE: UNLEASH’, ENHYPEN dives headfirst into a world where temptation, inner conflict, and passion collide. This album marks a bold evolution in the group’s storytelling, fusing alt-rock and dark pop into a gripping sonic journey.
Released on June 5, 2025, ‘DESIRE: UNLEASH’ marked a major turning point in ENHYPEN’s career. Coming just weeks after their high-profile Coachella appearance, where their comeback teasers created a buzz, the album capitalized on the momentum, generating massive excitement and global streaming attention.
The album kicks off with ‘Flashover’ as the intro song, delivering bold and fiery energy. The song reflects the theme of desire growing stronger and eventually burning into flame. It explores a completely new style for ENHYPEN, making it a standout choice to open the album.
The title track ‘Bad Desire (With or Without You)’ embodies the story of the album, pulsing with tension and longing. It is layered with heavy bass and intricate choreography, forming a perfect storm that captures the essence of craving something you shouldn’t have. The track explores the internal conflict between wanting something deeply and knowing it might be harmful, a theme that perfectly aligns with the album’s concept of temptation and self-awareness. The music video visually captures the intense emotions with its dark, cinematic aesthetics. Overall, the MV adds depth to the track and leaves a lasting impression with its bold storytelling.
The third track, ‘Outside’, is a charismatic hip-hop trap song marked by harsh rap verses and bold gang vocals. A sleek, mid-tempo track that blends introspective lyrics with smooth synth-pop production, ‘Outside’ offers contrast to the album’s more intense moments with its dynamic choreography.
Next is ‘Loose (Korean Version)’. It’s the Korean version of the digital single released last April, which is about deepening emotions that are also restrained. ‘Loose’ stands out as one of the most emotionally honest and intimate tracks on the album. Both the Korean and English versions emphasize the song’s dual emotional accessibility.
Following that is ‘Helium’, Jay’s self-written and self-produced pop-rock track. It metaphorically compares the feeling of falling in love to inhaling helium, a sensation of lightness and floating. Wanting to express his sincere feelings to ENGENEs (ENHYPEN’s fans), Jay also produced the song and played the guitar, making it a track that resonates deeply not just with fans, but also with the members.
The final track, ‘To Close’, is a lyrical and romantic piece about the bittersweet thrill of growing close to someone, only to fear they might suddenly disappear. It stands out as one of the most emotional and intimate tracks on the album.
With ‘DESIRE: UNLEASH’, ENHYPEN doesn’t just perform, they confront, confess, and captivate. The album dares to expose the duality of craving and growth, wrapped in emotional storytelling and stunning aesthetics. It’s this fearless vulnerability that makes the album unforgettable and raises the bar for what fans expect from them.
