cignature Makes A Comeback After 9 Months With The EP ‘Sweetie But Saltie’

On May 10, C9 Entertainment‘s girl group, cignature, released their 5th EP, ‘Sweetie but Saltie‘, nine months after their last release, Us in the Summer in August 2023. Through this album, the group aims to share the excitement of falling in love with their fans, signfan.

“Our new title track, “풍덩 (Poongdung),” represents summer’s young yet maturing love. I instantly liked the melody when I heard it, so I was counting down the days we could share with everyone. Thank you to all the fans who have waited for our comeback for about nine months, and we cannot wait to show a good performance. “Smooth Sailing,” which was released last summer, talked about a girl who is excited for her first love or crush. Our new title track sings the story of a more mature girl falling deeply in love as if she’s diving into love with a splash or poongdung. Sweetie but Saltie includes four new tracks, with ‘풍덩 (Poongdung)‘ as the title track. The song captures the summer vibes while also expressing the feelings of someone falling in love without holding themselves back. The track ‘I like I like’ has two versions, Korean and English, each giving the listeners a different experience. The song explores the themes of confirming a person’s feelings, even though it is obvious to the people around. While the Korean version focuses on the innocence of falling in love for the first time and realizing those feelings, the English version is a more casual conversation of sharing one’s feelings with friends. The last track, ‘Melody’ is cignature’s reflection on their past, present, and future, as well as their sincere resolutions regarding music.

“We prepared another summer album just like last year, but the main difference lies in that while Us in the Summer had a feel-good mood, this year’s title track, “풍덩 (Poongdung),” is more refreshing with a sparkling vibe just like a carbonated soda. There were other candidates for the title track, but we gave a lot of thought to finalizing it, which is why I have even more affection for it! Also, we’re releasing Korean and English versions of one song for the first time. Sharing a song that will allow us to connect deeper with global signfans is very meaningful. cignature is a seven-member girl group comprising Chaesol, Jeewon, Seline, Chloe, Belle, Semi, and Dohee. Belle is currently inactive in the group since her participation in the survival reality show ‘Universe Ticket’ and subsequent debut in the group, UNIS. The group debuted in February 2020 with the single ‘Nun Nu Nan Na‘.
