Trot singer Choi Soo Ho drops an emotionally charged first mini-album, ‘ONE’.
On April 5, Choi Soo Ho released his first mini-album, ‘ONE,’ along with an MV for the title track, ‘Go or Die.’ The song fuses traditional Korean vocal styles with vibrant flamenco guitar and dynamic Latin rhythms, delivering a distinctive and emotionally charged sound. It is composed by acclaimed music director Oh Joon Sung, known for his work on popular dramas such as ‘Boys Over Flowers’ and ‘City Hunter.’ The lyrics are penned by seasoned lyricist Lee Geon Woo, who has written for iconic artists like Kim Yeon Ja and Song Ga In.
‘ONE’ consists of six tracks that highlight Choi Soo Ho’s expressive range and vocal flexibility. The album includes ‘Wailing in the Dream,’ a soothing ballad; ‘We were together,’ a harmonious blend of flugelhorn and string instruments; an emotional remake of ‘Mom’s Song’; and a 2025 reinterpretation of ‘Man of Chosun,’ along with an instrumental version of ‘Go or Die’—each presenting a deeper and more refined vocal performance.
Recently, Choi Soo Ho captured attention on the KBS2 show, ‘Immortal Songs,’ winning first place with a traditional-infused performance of Yoo Jina’s ‘Sseurirang.’ With his first mini-album, ‘ONE,’ Choi Soo Ho is expected to solidify his position as a leading figure in the evolving trot scene.
