Following the damage caused by severe flooding across South Korea, celebrities have stepped forward to offer comfort and aid by contributing funds and sending their wishes through the Hope Bridge Korea Disaster Relief Association.
The organization confirmed that Yoo Jae Suk and Im Si Wan each donated 50 million KRW to support recovery efforts. Yoo Jae Suk expressed his concern by hoping there would be “no further damage,” and Im Si Wan emphasized the importance of coming together to help those in need.
Actress and philanthropist Lee Hye Young, a dedicated Honors Club member since 2019, donated 20 million KRW and shared, “I wish for a quick return to normalcy for the affected residents,” showcasing her commitment to community welfare.
WINNER’s Kang Seung Yoon also extended his support with a 12 million KRW donation. The singer has consistently contributed during similar crises in 2022 and 2023.
Lee Mal Nyeon, popularly known as Chimchakman, donated 10 million KRW, demonstrating that every bit of support, big or small, makes a difference.
Singer Lim Young Woong contributed 200 million KRW under the name of his fan club ‘Hero Era.’ He shared, “My heart is heavy thinking about those whose daily lives have been disrupted and who are enduring anxiety due to the sudden downpours. Though small, I hope this donation brings some comfort, and I sincerely wish everyone a swift return to normalcy.”
Celebrity couple actor Jin Tae Hyun and actress Park Si Eun also contributed 10 million KRW each, while singer and actress Kim Se Jeong and actor Chae Jong Hyeop added their support with 10 million KRW donations.
Meanwhile, Shin Hoon, Secretary-General of Hope Bridge, expressed his sincere gratitude to the celebrities and said, “Hope Bridge will do its best to support our neighbors so that they can return to their daily lives as soon as possible and we quickly access the damage situation in the region so that support can be provided in timely manner where it’s most needed.”
