On May 27, American Music Awards (AMAs), one of the major music award shows in the U.S., announced BTS’ RM as the winner of the 2025 ‘Favorite K-Pop Artist’ award. Other nominees for the category included Jimin, BLACKPINK’s Rosé, Stray Kids, and ATEEZ.
BTS made history in 2021 by becoming the first K-pop act to win ‘Artist of the Year’ at the AMAs. At the 2022 AMAs, they continued to break records by winning ‘Favorite Pop Duo or Group’ for the fourth consecutive year, making them the first artist in AMA history to do so. The introduction of the ‘Favorite K-Pop Artist’ category further cemented K-pop’s growing influence on the global stage.
The 2025 American Music Awards aired live from Las Vegas on May 26 (local time). This marked the first time in the show’s history that the AMAs were held in Las Vegas. All winners were determined by fan voting, which took place on the AMAs’ official website and Instagram.
