Seoul City government to officially sponsor BTS’ upcoming Gwanghwamun Square concert!
On February 10, the Seoul City Government officially confirmed that it will sponsor BTS’ comeback concert ‘BTS THE COMEBACK LIVE | ARIRANG’ at Gwanghwamun Square. The sponsorship was requested by BTS’ agency, HYBE, and was approved on January 29, according to a municipal official.
The official stated that the city government concluded there was no issue with the concert using the title ‘official sponsorship of the Seoul Metropolitan Government’ as the event is in public interest and is expected to contribute positively to the city’s administration, tourism, and economy.
With large crowds anticipated, the city government is implementing extensive safety measures to ensure public safety and accommodate international fans. These include special inspections of elevators in public facilities near Gwanghwamun Square. Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon recently presided over a meeting to review crowd safety measures.
In celebration of BTS’ upcoming album ‘ARIRANG’, HYBE plans to host a citywide festival with hands-on activities and art installations at major tourist destinations such as Sungnyemun Gate, N Seoul Tower, and Yeouido Hangang Park.
Additionally, BTS will open reservations for the free Gwanghwamun concert from February 23.
BTS’ 5th Album ‘ARIRANG’ will drop on March 20 at 1 PM KST (9:30 AM IST), followed by the BTS’ Gwanghwamun Square concert ‘BTS THE COMEBACK LIVE | ARIRANG’ on March 21 at 8 PM KST (4:30 PM IST). The concert will be exclusively streamed on Netflix.
