BIGHIT MUSIC’s rookie group is on the way!
On August 7 at midnight KST, BIGHIT MUSIC opened the social media accounts and officially unveiled the name of its much-awaited boy group through a logo sound, where the group’s name appeared in actual music production software, accompanied by a mysterious sound. The five-member boy group, consisting of Keonho, Juhoon, Martin, James, and Seonghyeon, will be called CORTIS.

The name CORTIS derives from the phrase ‘Color Outside the Lines’, meaning that the group aims to think freely beyond the standards and rules set by the world. They are a young creators’ crew who will strive to showcase their out-of-the-box thinking and creative talent by making their own music, from lyrics to composition to choreography and videography, that reflects their personal stories.
Along with the name reveal, CORTIS also dropped clips showing behind-the-scenes glimpses of the members in a recording studio, working on music, enjoying their time, and recording each other.
Additionally, CORTIS will be premiering new content on HYBE LABELS’ official YouTube channel on August 10 at midnight KST (August 9, 8:30 PM IST). Fans are buzzing with excitement about all the activities the group has planned leading up to their grand debut.
CORTIS marks BIGHIT MUSIC’s first new boy group in six years, following the successful debut of TOMORROW X TOGETHER in 2019. With world-renowned groups BTS and TXT under the label, fans have high expectations for this new group.
CORTIS will make their official debut on August 18.
