Bang Yongguk released his new single ‘Hikikomori’ on 20th January through all music sites at 6pm KST.
The rapper also released a music video via his official YouTube channel. This is his first solo comeback since releasing ‘Drunkenness’ in May 2018. ‘Hikikomori’ is a Japanese term that describes reclusive adults who completely withdraw from social life.
‘Hikikomori’ is written and co-composed by the rapper himself and the lyrics speak about the loneliness, confusion and depression of young people in their 20s. The lyrics, according to the rapper, are about his own personal story that expresses loneliness and confusion from his own experience.
In the music video, Yongguk can be seen sitting alone in a house that is completely destroyed, with stripped and broken down walls and debris all over the place.The music video perfectly expresses the lyrics and the theme of the song that deals with loneliness and depression.
