On April 3, the Baeksang Arts Awards announced that the highly anticipated awards will be held in May. The prestigious event honors excellence in broadcasting, film, and theater, recognizing top actors and productions of the year.
Notably, for the third consecutive year, Italian luxury brand Gucci is partnering with the awards and will present the ‘Gucci Impact Award,’ which recognizes films that address social issues and promote meaningful messages.

This year, the television category has been renamed the ‘Broadcast’ category to adapt to changing media trends and accommodate more platforms. Additionally, eligible works must have at least four episodes, with serial productions required to have more than one-third of their episodes aired during the judging period. Despite these changes, the selection process remains rigorous, with a panel of 60 industry experts assessing works released between April 1, 2024, and March 31, 2025, including Korean feature films and theatrical productions. However, works that were excluded due to last year’s screening period will be considered under this year’s eligibility.
In the film category, the ‘Rookie Director Award’ will honor debut directors of feature films released during the eligibility period.
Meanwhile, nominees for the 61st Baeksang Arts Awards will be announced on April 7 via the official website and social media channels.
The 61st Baeksang Arts Awards will take place on May 5 at COEX D Hall in Seoul at 8 PM KST (4 PM IST), and will be broadcast live on JTBC, JTBC2, and JTBC4.
