ASTRO’s MJ and JinJin are stepping into a bold new chapter as a unit.
On July 29 at midnight KST, Fantagio dropped an intriguing ‘Coming Soon’ teaser across ASTRO’s social media channels, announcing the debut of a new subunit consisting of members MJ and JinJin under the name ‘ZOONIZINI’. The duo is set to release their first mini album, ‘DICE’, next month. The teaser featured eye-catching typography highlighting the unit name, album title, and release date, instantly sparking excitement among fans.
The mini album title ‘DICE’ represents a die, symbolizing the multiple sides of MJ and JinJin’s musical personalities and their dynamic chemistry. The album will also be released in a physical format, adding to its collectible value.
A promotional scheduler was also revealed later the same day, teasing an exciting lineup of content including concept photos, a tracklist reveal, highlight medley, performance spoiler, prologue, and MV teaser, all rolling out from July 30 leading up to the album release.
The unit name ZOONIZINI is formed by combining MJ (Kim Myung Joon) and JinJin’s (Park Jin Woo) real names, hinting at a fun, refreshing synergy that the duo will deliver, which fans can look forward to. The name merges their individual identities, and the project aims to present a fresh synergy by blending their distinct musical colors and charms. MJ has showcased his solid vocal skills since releasing his solo album ‘Happy Virus’ in 2021, participating in numerous OSTs and music projects. JinJin, through his independent music project ‘JIN LAB’, has released high-quality self-produced songs and contributed to the production of many of ASTRO’s albums, solidifying his position as both an artist and producer.
Pre-orders for the mini album will begin on July 30.
‘DICE’ is set to be released on August 13.
