AKB48’s Takahashi Juri To Make Korean Debut In Woolim Entertainment’s New Girl Group

The news that Takahashi Juri would be graduating from AKB48 and making her Korean debut broke during a birthday event the singer held with fans. The idol stated – “After graduating from AKB48, I’ll be debuting through Korea’s Woollim Entertainment. I visited Korea in February to prepare for my debut.

She also added that graduating from AKB48 was a huge decision to make and that she loves AKB48. She explained that she decided to graduate and sign with Woollim Entertainment as she was unsatisfied with her current self.

Woollim Entertainment confirmed the news with the statement – “It is true that Takahashi Juri has signed a contract with Woollim Entertainment. She will be included as a member of a new girl group we are preparing to launch, and she will soon make her debut.

Woollim Entertainment is home to groups like Infinite, Lovelyz and Golden Child. Joining the agency also means being reunited with fellow Produce 48 contestants – IZ*ONE’s Kwon Eunbi and Kim Chaewon. Fans are definitely excited to see Juri in a K-Pop girl group but are equally saddened to see her leave AKB48.

Stay tuned for more on Takahashi Juri!
