PENTAGON‘s Wooseok and Lai Kuanlin have finally made their much-awaited unit debut!
Wooseok x Kuanlin made their debut as CUBE ENTERTAINMENT‘s new unit on 11th March at 6pm KST. They dropped their 1st mini album ‘9801‘ along with the music video for title track ‘I’M A STAR‘. The album name is taken from the rappers’ birth years, as Wooseok is born in 1998 and Kuanlin in 2001.
It consists of 5 songs, namely – title track ‘I’M A STAR (별짓)’, ’Hypey (Feat. GOT7’s Jackson)’, ‘Always Difficult Always Beautiful’, ‘Good Feeling’, and ‘Domino’.
The title track is a hip-hop R&B track that has two meanings, a “star” and “doing all sorts of things after one’s birth”. Wooseok and Kuanlin took part in writing the lyrics and shared their own stories through the lyrics in a witty way.
Wooseok, not only wrote the lyrics for the title track but also participated in composing and writing for b-side tracks ‘Always Difficult Always Beautiful ‘, along with fellow PENTAGON member Kino, and ‘Domino’, showing off his talents as a lyricist and composer.
