Actor Yoo Yeon-seok to Teach at Sejong University!
On March 6, Korean media outlets reported that actor Yoo Yeon-seok, known for his roles in hit dramas such as ‘Reply 1994,’ ‘Mr. Sunshine,’ and ‘Hospital Playlist,’ has been appointed as a professor at his alma mater, Sejong University.
The actor has been appointed a special professor and will teach the Multimedia Performance course to senior students majoring in Acting Arts in the Department of Film Art during the spring semester. The course focuses on teaching students to adapt their acting to the demands of different media environments, including theater, musicals, film, and TV dramas.
While teaching at the university, the actor will use his real name, Ahn Yeon-seok, instead of his stage name.
In a statement released by the university, a spokesperson expressed expectations that the actor’s extensive acting experience will benefit students of the Department of Film Art. “Actor Yoo Yeon-seok sets an example for students not only through his acting but also through his diligence,” the spokesperson said. “We expect his appointment as professor to not only enhance the department’s reputation but also serve as a strong motivation for students.”
Sejong University Department of Film Arts’ acting coach, Professor Ra Kyung-min, also posted a picture on Instagram welcoming Yoo Yeon-seok as a faculty member and former alumnus.

The actor enrolled in Sejong University’s Department of Film Art in 2003 to pursue his bachelor’s degree and later earned a Master of Fine Arts from the same department. He made his acting debut in the film ‘Oldboy’ (2003) and has since starred in many popular dramas.
