SEVENTEEN’s new sub-unit S.COUPS X MINGYU has officially made their debut!
On September 29 at 6 PM KST (2:30 PM IST), the duo (CxM) released their first mini-album ‘HYPE VIBES’ along with the music video for the title track ‘5, 4, 3 (Pretty Woman) (feat. Lay Bankz)’ featuring a sun-drenched Los Angeles backdrop as they cruise around the city, party on the beach showing off their carefree vibes.
The track interpolates Roy Orbison’s classic hit ‘Oh, Pretty Woman,’ reimagined with lively disco sounds and lyrics that express the emotions of being attracted to someone.
The album has six tracks in total, including ‘Fiesta’ (title track), ‘5,4,3 (Pretty woman) feat. Lay Bankz,’ ‘Worth it,’ ‘For you,’ ‘Young again,’ and ‘Earth.’ S.COUPS and MINGYU took part in writing and composing all tracks along with other contributions, showcasing their unique musical tastes.
“We wanted to show an honest and natural side of ourselves, without embellishment. The creative process felt just as free. ‘HYPE VIBES’ captures our new possibilities and fresh colors,” the duo shared through their agency.
Fans can look forward to S.COUPS X MINGYU’s first live stage performance of ‘5, 4, 3 (Pretty Woman)’ on Mnet’s M Countdown on October 2. A pop-up event celebrating the album will also run from September 30 at The Corner, HDC I-PARK Mall in Yongsan, Seoul.
