Dayoung embarks on her solo journey!
On September 9 at 6 PM KST (2:30 PM IST), WJSN’s Dayoung officially made her solo debut with her first digital single, ‘gonna love me, right?’. The single marks the beginning of a brand new chapter for her, centering around her story and showcasing an unfiltered side different from what she has shown before.
‘gonna love me, right?’ features three tracks. The title track, ‘body’, is a pop-dance song with a catchy hook and rhythm. Dayoung’s confident, clear vocals make the track addictive, making listeners instantly want to dance along like at a summer party, while the music video enhances the upbeat vibe, showcasing her smooth performance alongside her dancers as they beat the heat with a fearless attitude.
B-side tracks on the single include ‘number one rockstar’, an english track, which combines a powerful guitar riff with strong, straightforward lyrics about rising to be the center of the stage like a rockstar. Another english track, ‘marry me’ is a catchy rhythm that showcases a more playful side of her, talking about love and breakup.
Dayoung took part in the creation of the single, adding her own personal touch. She also contributed to writing the track ‘marry me’, highlighting her growth as an artist. Additionally, Eric Nam was among the incredible composers and writers who contributed to the album, taking part in writing and composing all three tracks.
