On August 6, d4vd released an animated music video for ‘Always Love’, his collaborative song with Stray Kids’ Hyunjin, which was originally released on June 27. Upon its first release, the song garnered much love and support from fans of both artists.
The newly released music video features a beautiful art style, incorporating the duo’s unique presence and personalities. Filled with visual representations of ‘love’, the video presents an artful blend of different aspects of the emotion, adding color to the sound of the duo’s dreamy ballad.
d4vd and Hyunjin’s collaboration, borne out of mutual respect and appreciation for each other’s work, took quite a unique route. It began with mutual support on social media and eventually led to their first offline meeting at a Stray Kids concert in Los Angeles.
It’s worth noting that the video release was previously teased by d4vd, even before the official release of the single, when he quoted ‘Attack on Titan’, a very popular Japanese anime, as an inspiration in a since-deleted X post. This unexpected crossover had fans eagerly anticipating the MV.
Both d4vd and Hyunjin have often expressed their love for animated works, especially Japanese anime. This passion has manifested in their careers through songs featured in anime (e.g., ‘Come Play’ [Arcane] – Stray Kids, ‘Remember Me’ [Arcane] – d4vd) and opening themes for anime series (e.g., ‘Tower of God’ Seasons 1 & 2 – Stray Kids), adding further depth to their already impressive portfolios.
Currently, Stray Kids are preparing for their upcoming 4th studio album ‘KARMA’, which will be released on August 22, while d4vd is on his WITHERED 2025 World Tour.
