TWICE’s Jeongyeon is in talks to make her debut on the silver screen!
On July 22, Korean media channels reported that TWICE member Jeongyeon has been cast as an army nurse officer in the upcoming film ‘New Recruit: The Movie.’
Addressing the reports, a representative from the film’s production team said that the artist has indeed been offered the role and is considering it positively. He further added, “We are in the process of coordinating the details.”
If Jeongyeon accepts the role, it will mark her debut on the big screen. She will become the second TWICE member to begin her acting career, following Dahyun.
‘New Recruit: The Movie’ is the silver screen adaptation of the popular K-drama series ‘New Recruit’ which first aired in 2022. The series gained a wide viewership following its hyper-realistic yet comical portrayal of military life. Its latest season (season 3) just aired in April this year.
Unlike the series, which was based on army bases and training camps, the film will center around military service life through the perspective of medical staff and will be set at a military hospital. The screenplay is in its final stages of development and filming is expected to begin later this year.
TWICE is celebrating their 10th debut anniversary this year and recently made a comeback in July with the fourth full-length album, ‘THIS IS FOR.’ The group is also currently on their sixth world tour, and on July 20, revealed during their concert that their 10th anniversary special documentary, ‘TWICE: ONE IN A MILLION,’ will be released this October.
This marks TWICE’s second official documentary, following ‘TWICE: Seize The Light,’ which was released in 2020 as a nine-episode series. The teaser for ‘TWICE: ONE IN A MILLION’ was released on YouTube yesterday.
