SEVENTEEN’s Seungkwan has volunteered his talents for a new public service campaign, ‘A Promise with Jeju’, aimed at promoting his hometown, Jeju Island. The campaign was produced by Jeju Special Self-Governing Province.
Released on July 17 via Jeju’s official YouTube channel, the campaign video will be broadcast nationwide starting July 18, appearing on national TV, radio, and digital billboards across Seoul and Jeju. The campaign aims to promote responsible tourism and the island’s sustainable values.
Seungkwan, a proud Jeju native, participated despite his busy schedule to support his hometown. “I am grateful and honored to be able to contribute to showcasing Jeju’s true beauty and value to the world,” he shared, adding, “I will always support the city in its leap to become a place where the environment and tourism coexist harmoniously.”
Known for his positive energy, Seungkwan’s presence added warmth and vitality to the campaign. He has consistently supported his hometown through meaningful actions. In June, he donated 20 million KRW to the National Heritage Administration and the Cultural Heritage National Trust to help preserve Jeju’s cultural assets.
Last November, after being appointed an honorary ambassador of Jeju Island, he donated funds through the Jeju Provincial Office to protect the endangered dolphins native to Jeju’s coasts. He also drew international attention at the 13th UNESCO Youth Forum in Paris, where he highlighted Jeju as the only region to be simultaneously designated by UNESCO in three natural environment sectors.
As a member of SEVENTEEN, Seungkwan continues to lead impactful initiatives, following the group’s appointment as UNESCO’s first Youth Goodwill Ambassador in 2023.
