HYBE to establish an Indian subsidiary in the second half of 2025.
On June 30, HYBE revealed its plans to establish an Indian subsidiary, stating, “We are currently conducting local market research and handling the practicalities of setting up the corporation, with the goal of launching around September or October.”
HYBE’s chairman, Bang Si Hyuk, decided to set up an Indian subsidiary to bring the K-pop model to India’s vast market. He is also set to lead the “Multi-home, Multi-genre” strategy, which focuses on adapting to local cultures and styles to build a strong presence in different music markets.
HYBE has already seen success with the “Multi-home, Multi-genre” strategy in various countries. In the U.S., HYBE America’s girl group KATSEYE quickly rose to fame, earning a spot on the Billboard Hot 100 in less than a year since their debut.
In Japan, HYBE’s subsidiary YX Labels has found success with their boy group &TEAM, who earned Triple Platinum certification from the RIAJ and topped the Oricon Charts. Similarly, their second boy group, aoen, who debuted earlier this month, also topped the Japanese Oricon charts upon debut.
Meanwhile, HYBE Latin America is set to launch a band audition program, ‘Pase a la Fama,’ in partnership with Mexico’s Telemundo, alongside a separate audition program for a new Latin boy group.
A HYBE representative stated, “The strategy of establishing footholds in major global music markets and applying this methodology is already producing results. It is predicted that if this trend continues, the landscape of the global music industry—currently dominated by the so-called global ‘Big Three’ businesses—will undergo a significant transformation.”
HYBE and its subsidiaries are currently home to BTS, TXT, SEVENTEEN, ENHYPEN, LE SSERAFIM, ILLIT, and more.
