Japanese singer-songwriter Fujii Kaze teams up with DJ and producer 250 for his latest single.
On June 13, Fujii Kaze released a new single, ‘Hachikō’, a pre-release track from his upcoming album ‘Prema’. The song draws inspiration from the story of the loyal dog Hachikō, who faithfully returned to the same station every evening for nine years, waiting for his master, unaware that he had passed away. Building on this theme of unwavering loyalty, the song also reflects the patience and devotion of Fujii Kaze’s fans, who have waited for his return with new music.
‘Hachikō’ features predominantly English lyrics interwoven with Japanese phrases. DJ and producer 250 is credited as a co-writer on the track, while American producer Sir Nolan also worked closely with both Kaze and 250 to bring the single to life.
Earlier this year, 250 and Fujii Kaze quietly collaborated on the upcoming album during closed recording sessions at House of Refuge, a newly launched multi-purpose cultural space in Jeju.
Fujii Kaze’s third studio album ‘Prema’ will include nine tracks: ‘Casket Girl’, ‘I Need U Back’, ‘Hachikō’, ‘Love Like This’, ‘Prema’, ‘It Ain’t Over’, ‘You’, ‘Okay, Goodbye’, and ‘Forever Young’. The album is set to release on September 5.
Fujii Kaze rose to fame through YouTube and has built a large fan base in Japan. In December 2024, he made history by becoming the first Japanese artist to headline and sell out a concert at Seoul’s Gocheok Sky Dome as part of his Asia tour.
