On June 6 KST, a Korean media outlet reported that THEBLACKLABEL is currently preparing to debut a co-ed group. This marks a significant development for the label, which is renowned for producing chart-topping hits and managing high-profile artists.
A representative from THEBLACKLABEL confirmed, stating, “THEBLACKLABEL is currently in the process of preparing for a co-ed group debut, details will be revealed at a later date.” Though specifics remain under wraps, the confirmation alone has stirred anticipation within the K-pop community.
THEBLACKLABEL boasts a star-studded roster, including global icons like BIGBANG’s Taeyang, BLACKPINK’s Rosé, and solo artist JEON SOMI, as well as emerging talents, the rookie girl group MEOVV. The agency also manages high-profile actors Park Bo Gum and Lee Jong Won, and dancer-choreographer Lee Jung Lee, solidifying its status as a multifaceted entertainment powerhouse.
THEBLACKLABEL is headed by acclaimed producer and singer-songwriter Teddy Park, who debuted in 1998 as a member of the influential hip-hop group 1TYM and has long been recognized as a driving force in shaping the sound of modern K-pop. Serving as the main producer at YG Entertainment from 2006 to 2020. Teddy’s work has been instrumental in the success of numerous artists, including BLACKPINK, JEON SOMI, and currently MEOVV and IZNA. His involvement in the upcoming co-ed group signals a promising future.
