X:IN is back with a powerful new album!
On May 17, X:IN released their 3rd mini-album, ‘Defend Myself’, along with the music video for its title track, ‘Attention seeker’. Touted as their most vulnerable album to date, ‘Defend Myself’ delivers an autobiographical message as the group opens up about the anxiety hidden behind the glamorous idol life, and how, amid all that chaos, they choose to protect themselves.
The title track, ‘Attention seeker’, builds on the inner conflict and pain that tie into the album’s theme. The MV, set primarily in the vast deserts of California, reflects this message, with the members seen in chains, trying to break free. The song portrays an intense struggle between the desire for attention and the wariness of receiving too much of it.
The other songs on the album include ‘SABAHA’, a track that talks about casting a spell on oneself; ‘Bitter love’, a song that talks about the pride that stops you from making a move in a complex relationship; and ‘Almost done’, an autobiographical track that highlights the hard work the group has put in to grow through tumultuous times. The album also includes the instrumental versions of all four tracks.
Released at 6 PM KST (2:30 PM IST), ‘Defend Myself’ is now available on all streaming platforms.
