i-dle is gearing up for their highly anticipated comeback!
On May 5 at midnight KST, i-dle dropped a series of teasers to announce their 8th mini-album, ‘We Are’. Titled ‘i-dentity’, the trailers include individual and group teasers, with each member building on the group’s rebranded identity of i-dle, transitioning from the former (G)I-DLE. Each teaser explores how the “G” from their name is dropped, accidentally or purposely.
Miyeon breaks a G-embellished nail at an ATM. Minnie walks confidently as the G on her heel falls off. Soyeon backs her car into a wall and removes the G from the trunk. Yuqi’s G-marked golf club loses the letter mid-swing. Shuhua struggles with a G-shaped doorknob before kicking it off entirely.
In the group teaser, a member spray paints (G)I-DLE on a window, only to smash the G, leaving behind i-dle. These striking visuals reflect the group’s redefined identity and a bold new chapter.
‘We Are’ follows their special anniversary album ‘We are i-dle’, which featured re-recorded 5-member versions of past title tracks originally released between May 2, 2018, and January 11, 2021.
‘We Are’ is set to be released on May 19 at 6 PM KST (2:30 PM IST).
