Making his English voice acting debut, Ahn Hyo Seop will take on the role of Jinwoo, the dangerously charismatic leader of a boy group, who’s far more than he seems. Voicing all his lines in English, the actor challenges himself with a role that hinges entirely on vocal expression, marking a significant moment in his evolving global career. Jinwoo isn’t just eye candy with a mic, he’s a pivotal force in the story’s escalating battle between idols and the supernatural.
Joining him is the legendary Lee Byung Hun, further fueling excitement with his involvement in the project. Known for his versatility and gravitas in both Korean and international cinema, Lee’s voice acting presence promises a layered performance that blends tension and emotional complexity. Alongside him, a dazzling voice cast that includes Daniel Dae Kim, Ken Jeong, Yunjin Kim, Joel Kim Booster, Liza Koshy, and more—making this film a true global showcase of talent.
And if that’s not enough to get your heart racing, TWICE’s Jeongyeon, Jihyo, and Chaeyoung are confirmed to release an original song for the film’s official soundtrack. Known for their powerhouse vocals and vibrant energy, the trio’s track is expected to bring a melodic spark to the high-stakes, glitter-laced battles of the story. While the animation dazzles the eye, TWICE’s musical touch ensures the soul of K-pop pulses at the center.
Directed by Maggie Kang (of Korean-American descent) and Chris Appelhans (‘Wish Dragon’), and produced by Sony Pictures Animation—the studio behind ‘Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse’, ‘KPop Demon Hunters’ is being hailed as a landmark moment in Korean creative storytelling. It not only features a predominantly Asian cast and crew but also represents a shift in the global content dynamic: from simply globalizing K-content to transforming into K-culturalizing global content.
Whether you’re tuning in for the supernatural action, the layered cultural storytelling, the stunning visuals, or the magnetic voices of Ahn Hyo-seop, Lee Byung Hun, and TWICE ‘KPop Demon Hunters’ is shaping up to be a thrilling cultural ride you won’t want to miss.
