Based on the webtoon, ‘Gwangjang,’ ‘Mercy for None’ delves into a dark world of crime, betrayal, and vengeance. The drama follows Nam Gi Jun (So Ji Sub), a former enforcer for the Bong San Gang, led by the formidable Gu Bong San (Ahn Gil Kang). To escape the underworld and protect his younger brother, who joins a rival gang, he severs his own Achilles heel and disappears. Eleven years later, when his brother, Nam Gi Seok (Lee Jun Hyuk), is brutally murdered, Gi Jun returns to the criminal underworld, determined to uncover the truth and avenge his death.
In the drama, Huh Joon Ho plays rival gang leader Lee Joo Woon, while Cho Han Cheul portrays his right-hand man. Lee Bum Soo takes on the role of a shadowy fixer, Gong Myoung plays Bong San’s ambitious heir, and Choo Young Woo stars as Joo Woon’s prosecutor son.
Gritty, intense, and action-packed, ‘Mercy for None’ is set to redefine the noir genre. This marks So Ji Sub’s long-awaited return to the small screen since his 2022 drama ‘Doctor Lawyer.’
