‘Squid Game’ has hit it out of the park with its second season!
Released on December 26, ‘Squid Game 2’ topped the Netflix charts and became the #1 show in 92 countries. Despite mixed reviews from critics, the survival thriller has solidified its status as a global sensation, continuing the success of its groundbreaking first season in 2021.
Fans were thrilled to see the return of beloved characters like Lee Jung Jae as Gi Hun, Lee Byung Hun as The Front Man, Wi Ha Jun as Detective Jun Ho, and Gong Yoo as The Recruiter. The new season also introduces fresh faces like T.O.P, Im Si Wan, Kang Ha Neul, Jo Yu Ri, and more. It follows Gi Hun as he abandons his plan to move to the United States and reenters the games with new participants, determined to bring it down from within.
In just 24 hours, ‘Squid Game 2′ dominated Netflix rankings across major countries, including India, South Korea, the United States, the United Kingdom, Brazil, Mexico and France. The only exception was New Zealand, where it ranked #2. The latest season mirrors the success of its predecessor, maintaining the intense drama and emotional storytelling that captivated audiences worldwide.
Netflix has revealed that Season 3, filmed alongside Season 2, will be released in 2025, keeping fans excited for what’s next.
