On November 29, South Korean alternative R&B sensation DEAN made a highly-anticipated return with a new two-pack titled ‘3:33’. Comprising two tracks, this latest release marks the start of the artist’s striking creative era. This is also his first work under his recent partnership with Island Records. The two-pack consists of two tracks, ‘NASA (feat FKJ)’ and ‘Ctrl (feat. FKJ)’.
French house music maestro and multi-instrumentalist French Kiwi Juice (also known as FKJ) collaborated as the co-producer of ‘3:33’. DEAN and FKJ worked on the making of this release during sessions in Korea and Japan. DEAN, under his moniker Deanfluenza, also contributed as the lyricist, composer, arranger, and producer for the two-pack. Some of the other prominent contributors in the latest drop include No Identity and T.Y.

The two-pack is centered around celestial themes which bridge the present and future. Elaborating on the nature of the release, DEAN shared, “This project is alerting a signal from the future of myself to the current me.” Both tracks are molded in a conversational structure, giving it a more personal touch. With the lyrics, themes, and aesthetics reflected through this release, DEAN attempts to bring out a musical experience that is out of this world.
‘NASA (feat. FKJ)’ is woven with soft melodies of piano and synths that give a soft tone to the song. DEAN’s gentle vocals bring out the artist’s conversation with his younger self as he urges him to “Come back to Earth” and find the light within. A music video of the song was also released on November 29 which showcases dark and warm aesthetics that compliment the song.
‘Ctrl (feat. FKJ)’ takes a faster beat, becoming a cosmic club track with its groovy tunes. The artist’s vocals add to the high-spirited feel of the song. The song moves the listeners to break free and groove as the artist sings “I gotta dance again”.
Known for his remarkable presence in the K-R&B scene, DEAN is credited for chart-topping songs such as ‘instagram’, ‘D (Half Moon)’, ‘What 2 Do’, ‘하루살이’, ‘DIE 4 YOU’ and more. ‘3:33’ marks the artist’s return after a year since the release of his single ‘DIE 4 YOU’. He recently featured on singer BIBI’s latest track ‘Burn it (feat. DEAN).
DEAN’s return to the music scene brings excitement amongst fans as the fresh release promises a special musical experience for all.
