Popular South Korean Producer and Hip-hop artist Padi released a new single album on May 24. The album consists of two tracks, the title track ‘DO (Feat. Lee Hi),’ and the b-side track ‘OUTCASTAWAY (Feat. THAMA, YDG).’
The album titled, ‘Answer Answer’ possesses a somewhat ambiguous dual interpretation, one being the artist looking for the right answer as a producer while the other being a response or reaction that he has yet to receive from the listeners. The tracks depict the frustration of the artist not being able to find the required answers for the above questions even in a dictionary.
The title track, ‘Do’ features LeeHi with her soulful vocals elevating the track to yet another level. The track on the other hand hooks the listener right from the beginning with its trendy and addictive chorus followed by beats that just hit the spot right on. ‘Do’ speaks about the longing one feels when awaiting an answer from a person they like.
Moving on to the second track, ‘OUTCASTAWAY’ features fellow labelmate THAMA, known for his all-rounder musical talents in almost every genre, and YDG with his unmatched and groovy rap skills. As these three forces join, they bring out a wonderful rhythmical melody that enriches the track. ‘OUTCASTAWAY,’ a combination of two terms ‘outcast’ and ‘castaway’ conveys the frustration felt when one gets separated from people.
Padi gained recognition as a music producer with the track ‘Your Night (Feat. OHHYUK)’ during the 2016 MBC’s ‘Infinite Challenge’ History X Hip Hop Project known as ‘Infinite Challenge Great Heritage.’ Later in the year 2017, the artist produced ‘1/N (Feat. Dynamicduo)’ and ‘VVIP (Feat. Sik-K Gaeko)’ for the hip-hop reality competition show ‘Show Me The Money’ which became some of the biggest hits that swept the charts.
Furthermore, in order to display his versatility across all genres as a producer the artist officially joined Amoeba Culture as a new artist. Following this, he became the second person to participate in Amoeba Culture ‘The Seed’ Project, a project with the goal of cultivating seeds that bear fruits within the Hiphop/R&B scenario.
